Europe Travels 2011: Toulon, France

The first stop on my European cruise was Toulon, France. Such a beautiful city with lots of character. On this particular day….the family and I booked an excursion to little town called Aix (pronounced “X” or “Ex”). We had a ball exploring this town, eating at bakeries, and meeting unique strangers along the way. This may not have been a city that I would have picked to go to, but I’m definitely glad that I had the opportunity to visit.

There’s not much else to say about Aix…so I’ll let the pictures do the talking! 🙂

As I worked out the first morning…the ship was docking and this was my view from the gym. I raced back to the room so that I could capture it on my camera. Welcome to Toulon!

Not a bad way to start your morning! 🙂

My view from the bus on our way to Aix

T’was nice to see a little slice of America while in Europe!

Loved how mountainous it was over there. We don’t get that here in Georgia.

Fountain in the middle of Aix.

You won’t see me in many pics (because I’m taking them) but here is me and my cousin Shan!

The family

Our first stop was a bakery. Aaaaaaaaamazing pastries and coffee!!

Their coffee is so strong you literally only need a shot of it.

My cousin Shannon enjoying her coffee

The pastries were scrumptious!

Took a picture of some other bakeries as we roamed through Aix

We decided that is would be cool to purchase 2 baguettes and use them a swords lol

And like I mentioned earlier…we met some “unique” people along the way lol

Yes…I enjoyed photographing all things food!

Cute little turtle bread

Disappointed that I didn’t try this 🙁

Mom and cousin Shan

Loved the outdoor market

Hope you guys enjoyed seeing Aix as much as I did!
